The owner of the Capistrano Beach location owns 4-5 other places. This is review is of her Garden Grove locations --Her places are DUMPS!!!! Your loved one will die quickly here!! It's falling apart and no obvious repairs have been done in years and years. Many of these board and Care Homes are rentals, this one is, which are always the worst board and cares.

The caregiving staff acts like they just came off the boat. They have a truly difficult time communicating with you and I bet they are not even making minimum wage.

When I toured, first the front house, It was in disarray -- had not been cleaned in weeks. As a client on a tour you would expect the care staff to be on their best behavior. Upon entering, the two male caregivers are watching TV with their feet propped up on the table. It was just 5:00 PM. No one was attending to the residents and when I asked for a tour the gentleman told me "to walk around" and went back and put his feet back up on the table to watch TV. Just two residents and they were in their rooms -- JUST LYING LIFELESS IN THEIR BED. The house is licensed for 6 and only 2 residents -- which the poor things look very unloved and unattended and forgotten about!

It's 5 pm....there was no dinner being prepared and no smell of food in the house. WHERE WAS THEIR DINNER? IT WAS 5 PM!!!!!
I was startled at the caregivers lack of concern. They were both that of a lazy night watchman at a rundown hotel. Never doing any work -- just there to slep and collect a paycheck.

The 5-star review of this place on "A Place For Mom" is definitely a bogus reviews by the owner in dire straights to get bodies in her homes. A Place For Mom is the worst place to ever find a home recommendation. They tell you places are fantasic and highly rated and they place all the time there. THEN CHECK THE HOMES LICENSING COMPLAINT RECORD WITH THE STATE OF CA AND YOU'LL SEE THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS ARE RIDDLE WITH COMPLAINTS.

I spoke to her on the phone prior to the tour and she was so unconcerned with me, would not answer any questions about the home and care and just told me to "go see". This place is not fit for any human and I'm surprised the state of CA has not revoked their license as yet.

STAY AWAY FROM ALL LOCATIONS!!!!

BTW, A Place For Mom charges care home 125% of 1st month rent for anyone who moves in, so they will lie, lie, lie to get their commissions. They are Bernie Madoff fraudsters of the placement business!
